I wanted to wish each and everyone one of you out there a very Happy Thanksgiving.  This year has been such an amazing year for learning and growing.  I am truly grateful for everything that has crossed my path and helped me to move closer and closer to my dream.

Today is a day of Thanks and Gratitude; no matter what is happening in your life right now, there is something to be thankful for and have gratitude for.

I am grateful that my family is in tack and we have each other.
I am grateful for all the people and opportunities that have come into my life.
I am grateful for all that I have learned and will continue to learn to keep me moving forward on my journey.
I am grateful for the air I breathe and all the beauty around me that I get to see every day.
I am so grateful for my life; no matter what challenges I have right now I know I will get through them as I always do and share my experience to help someone else.

Have an amazing day my friends....until we meet again....

P.S.  Please share with me what you are grateful for.

Good morning my friends...it is a beautiful Tuesday morning, there is snow on the ground and Thanksgiving is only a couple of days away.  When I sit back and think about how this year has gone I can't believe all the changes that have occurred for me.  Some of the changes were not what I expected but everything has turned out for my highest good.

As a child I believed in so many things that to adults were impossible.  I believed I could fly, I was a super hero, I was a dancer, I was a singer, I was anything that I wanted to be.  I created it in my mind and when I played; it was all real to me as a child.  Then as you grow and you take on others beliefs you start to lose the magic of life.  You lose the belief that you can do and be anything you want no matter what.  Think about that for a minute....What did you want to be when you grew up that somewhere along the way someone said something to you and you took that as truth; worst of all you believed it and now you are something different?  It is an amazing question to think about.

To many times we let outside influences dictate how our lives are going.  For me I did that a lot up until these past few years.  I am grateful for everything that has happened in my life because today my life is absolutely amazing.  I have awesome people in my life along with opportunities that keep coming to me.  I love everything around me; I have had to grow and learn so I can be the woman I am today.  I had to go through the toughest of times to be the woman I am today.  I can honestly say, without a shadow of a doubt I love me.  I love the woman I am today.  I am so proud of all that I have accomplished and learned so far on my journey.

Take a good look at yourself right now; what is it that you have accomplished that you have not acknowledged yourself for?  I am sure there is plenty.  We are nearing the end of this year, keep your fires burning and finish what you have started.  I am here with you all the way doing the same thing.

Until we meet again my friends...

With all my love...Rita

Good morning my beautiful friends out there...if you haven't figured it out already it is FRIDAY; how exciting the weekend is here.  What do you have planned for the weekend?  Thanksgiving is next Thursday and all the holiday festivities officially begin.

During this time of year a lot of people tend to dread the holidays, especially when they are going through tough times or loss of loved ones.  Maybe money is tight, or you may be out of work...the holidays become even more stressed and dreaded with our troubles.

We all have something in our lives that is not always working the way we want them too.  When the holidays present themselves it seems that our troubles become magnified because we feel powerless.  Today's inspiration is so fitting for so many of us going through stuff that we feel we have no control over.

"Someday everything will all make perfect sense.  So for now, laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears, and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason."

As we deal with situations in our lives we never can figure out the reason why at the time of going through it all; however in my experience everything that I have ever dealt with has always been for my highest good.  Sometimes the reason is revealed quickly or sometimes it is revealed later, or even much later in life.  But it has always gotten revealed at some point where I can apply the knowledge gained to help me in current situations; even if the situation is not mine I can share what was learned to help someone else deal with their circumstance.

As you are going through your troubles learn to let go of the stress; it may seem hard to do but we tend to make situations harder than they need to be.  Laugh through your problem; who cares what people think, if you laugh you will be able to see solutions because you are not stuck in the muck of it all.  When tears are streaming down your face smile; when you are smiling through tears you are actually releasing the stress and allowing solutions to come in as well.  Most importantly everything happens for a reason; you may not understand it right away but everything always works out for your highest good even when it seems impossible.

When you really read and comprehend the words in this inspiration you can actually start to feel a little bit better about your situation.  You can really look at your situation differently and know that you will get through whatever it is alive.  We tend to make things worse with the unknown of the outcome and pile on the stress of beating ourselves up and just making it worse overall.

As we are going into the weekend, no matter what you are dealing with try to apply these tips and see if you can't make your circumstance a little better.  I am going to use these tips to apply to my own self while I have to sit back and watch my son deal with his current situation.  I will be the support but I won't create the stress and worry around it.  I will maintain being light hearted so we can create solutions instead of more unneeded stress.

Until we meet again my friends...

With all my love....Rita

Good morning my friends...what a beautiful chilly morning we have today.  I feel like it is going to be an amazing day!!!

No matter what faces us in our journey; I am learning to face things head on.  Something's are taking me longer to confront and get over, but if I can keep going no matter my life will change drastically.

As I have been writing these past couple of days, you all know that I am dealing with something very serious with my son.  The details don't matter, but what does matter is how I handle the situation and learn from it.  It is not just my son's lesson, but it is mine as well.  I truly feel how I am handling things with my son; he is actually listening to me and realizing that his situation does not have to be as dark and bleak as we make it out to be.  What has been amazing is seeing my son planning his future to accommodate the consequences he will be facing in the near future.

We all have something to confront that stops us dead in our tracks.  It literally steals our dreams from us.  I would say it steals our future, but if we are lucky we will still be here however our future may not be what we want, but we will still have our future.  It is a bit complicated to think about...but there it is.

My son has been dealing with his father walking away from him since he was 10 years old; I have remarried and my husband adopted him when he was 12.  For me it was the best option to ensure that my son had the best life possible, however for a child he really didn't understand and started carrying around a demon that gets tucked deep down into his toes.  As my son grew he would tuck his feelings deeper and deeper, every mile stone his birth father missed, he tucked those feelings deeper and deeper; until he could not tuck any further and he got himself into trouble.  We all do this...

My son's trouble is truly a blessing in disguise; he can now start dealing with these issues that he has been putting off his whole life.  When we refuse to confront our issue, they don't go away; they find other ways to manifest themselves so that they are dealt with and we can go on living our dreams.

If there is anything that you are refusing to deal with; just deal with it.  It may not be easy but you will thank yourself and feel a million times better if you do.  I have been dealing with my stuff for quite some time, but now I think it is time to wrap the rest of my crap up and finally say good bye to it.  Take the time today to start changing your life.

Until we meet again...

With all my love...Rita

Day 172 on Empowering Women to be Healthy and Confident!!!

Good morning...we are getting so close to Thanksgiving, I can't believe it.  Time is truly flying by so quickly; I am trying to take notice and be present for every moment of the day and yet it is already Wednesday.
Today's blog I write with a heavy and yet light heart.  It breaks my heart to watch my son deal with a situation where we are not sure what the outcome will be.  Although I know deep down in the depths of my soul everything will work out for his highest good.  I continue to pray that he sees his situation as a blessing in disguise and not something that is against him.  However, who he is as a human being and a young man, I am sure he will see the positive side of it all.

That brings me to the rest of us...we are not our mistakes.  That is so important to know and understand.  No matter what lesson we have learned in life or had to repeat the lesson in order to really get it...we are not those mistakes.  We are the lessons that we have learned and the forgiveness we are to ourselves and others.

No matter what has happened in our past or actions we have done; again, we are not our past either.  Everyone was put on this earth to learn lessons.  We all have special gifts inside of us to share with the world.  Sometimes we get off track and we need a jolt to bring us back.  If we truly understood this, we would not be continually punishing ourselves and making our lives miserable.  Think about that...what an amazing thought.

We are not what others expect of us...WOW!!!  We aren't!  No one person can put on us an expectation...we can't expect anyone to be what we think they should be.  Everyone here on this planet is here for a purpose, what that purpose is has nothing to do with us.  The only thing that concerns us is our own purpose.  What I have learned is that my son is here because I brought him into this world; but he is here because he has his own path and journey to be on and learn from.  I have given him the tools to live and grow, but it is truly up to him to figure it all out.  When I look back on my own life...no one was there for me, I had to figure it out and learn my own lessons.  What is amazing for my son while going through his lesson is that he has me and his dad for support.  We need to be the support and not put upon expectations.

We truly are a Divine Being having a human experience.  Think about it...when we pass on, our souls leave and the body is left behind.  We are true spirit using the bodies...We need to truly love who we are and know we are here for a reason.  No matter what we do in life, lessons we need to learn or relearn we are amazing beings.  Our lights shine bright if we only allow ourselves to grow and go through what we are meant to go through.  No matter how bleak your situation may look like; always look at the positive side of things.  Find something that is positive in the situation you are in.  Once you are able to do that you will be able to get through it with grace and ease.  You will have learned the lesson on the first try rather than have to keep trying to get it.

Be loving and kind to yourself; know that no matter what is happening in your life, you are amazing and filled with Gods' love.  You deserve the best in life.  If you don't quit you will truly get what you deserve.  Have an amazing day my friends.  Until we meet again...

With all my love...Rita

Day 171 on Empowering Women to be Healthy and Confident!!!

Good morning my friends...I can't believe so much time has passed; I was caught up in the happiness of life and some craziness of life.  Before I knew it, 6 days have passed since my last blog.  It amazes me how fast time goes by.

Recently I have found myself dealing with something that I have never wanted in my life; something that I have no control over and I have to sit back and watch things unfold and only be there for support.  It is one of the hardest things that I have to do is watch my child learn from a mistake that will change his life for quite some time.  It breaks my heart.

The inspiration that has come to me today is so fitting.  When we surrender, we allow the universe to work its magic; we say yes to infinite possibilities; we trust that things will work out as they are meant to; and we give ourselves permission to let go of the outcome. This can be liberating, intimidating, blissful, scary, and a swirl of so many other emotions.  But in the end, if we are true to our heart, life unfolds with magnificence...and we get to celebrate.  If I really take this in and absorb what it is saying, I take comfort in the situation that is coming up.

This can apply to all of us.  Everyday we come up against all kinds of things, sometimes those things are not ours but someone who is very close to us.  Sometimes it is hard to see the positive side of things when you are wrapped up in the horror of it all.  But if we truly let go of the outcome; really allow whatever is to happen, happen; things just might turn out for the best.  It's a crazy thought, but what I am learning is things are not always as bad as we make it out to be.

If we could just take a step back, breathe and let the pieces fall where they may...then everything will make sense.  But we need to have faith that no matter what, everything always works out for our highest good.  Let today's blog really soak in; no matter what you are dealing with and no matter how scary it may look; have faith that it will all work out for your highest good.  I am going to take this inspiration and soak it in so that I may be a positive support system for my child to get through a very tough time.  He will know that no matter what he goes through and that in some crazy way, this has happened for a reason; that reason will work out for his highest good.

Until we meet again my friends...

With all my love...Rita

I can't believe it is still morning...I have gotten so much done already and it's only 10:36 in the morning; CRAZY!!!

I was going through my Facebook page and I came across this inspiration; Nothing in the world can bother you as much as your own mind, I tell you.  In fact, others seem to be bothering you, but it is not others, it is your own mind.  When I read this I could not believe how true this is for me.  I am sure this quote is true for many of you out there as well.

If you honestly think about this quote and seriously look at yourself with this in mind, you will see how true it is.  I'll give you an example of my own life; I can wake up in the morning crabby and I will take it out on my husband.  Just him getting out of bed when I want some quiet time will set me off.  I get so mad at him and truly it has nothing to do with him.  I woke up crabby from my own mind...he did nothing to me, and yet I am mad and irritated at him.  How many of you out there can say that about yourself?   How about the fact you get up late in the morning, you're then rushing to get to work and all of a sudden it seems that every slow person on the road is in front of you making your day more miserable.  However, it's not them, when you are on time your fine, the traffic is always the same...but when you are rushing, you are angry and maybe even saying some crazing things in the car.  Does this resonate with anyone out there?  It definitely does for me.

Can you imagine if we started to be responsible for our own crankiness that goes on in our own heads?  The crankiness that starts in our heads is the lack of confidence that we have in ourselves.  When we are not confident or we feel powerless we then take it out on others...but when we are confident and feeling powerful we are happy and there are no issues.  This is something to truly ponder.

I have a lot of things that I am doing with my life.  I am building a business, taking classes and I am writing this blog along with being on a radio show.  I also want to start writing a book.  This all sounds great, maybe even impressive however I don't always wake up ready to conquer the world, most times I wake up scared and I have to prepare myself to conquer the world.  I will have an amazing day and things are going great, I finally feel like I have wins in my pocket, then I go to bed when I awake in the morning I have to start again.  Sometimes, a lot of times I have to pick myself up and really prepare myself, tell myself I can do it.  I am smart enough and deserving to get what I want.  I have to change my mindset so I can have a productive day.  It happens to all of us.  The difference is that I keep fighting and going no matter how tough it is for me.  When you give up, you give up on yourself; that's when the failures knock you down instead of becoming lessons.

This blog is about helping women to be confident and powerful, you are already all these things we just need to do some house cleaning in your mind so you find yourself again.  Being powerful and confident is not about the outside of you, it truly is the inside of you, that's the most special part of you.

Have an amazing day my friends...until we meet again...

With all my love...Rita

Good morning my friends...It is Tuesday morning and it is cold and rainy; what else can you expect for November.

As I sat down at the computer to write today's blog, I thought to myself are these blogs helping women to be powerful and confident...are the women out there reading this blog feeling better about themselves through my experiences knowing that we are all the same and we too can have all that God has created us to have...I am asking you out there reading this blog to email me or send a note through this site letting me know how this is helping you
[email protected]; you can reply to this blog or you can send a comment to me on the home page of this website.  I would greatly appreciate it!!!

Today's inspiration is such an amazing quote.  If we could look into each other's hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care.  Let's pick this a part shall we....

If we could look into each other's hearts....can you imagine if we just stopped for a minute to see what each of us is going through?  If someone you encounter is being somewhat of a brat and just acting out of sorts; instead of blowing them off or being irritated by it, what if we just asked what was happening and understood their situation.  Now, let's be clear it does not give the other person permission to be a jerk but what if we took that moment to understand.  Really listened to what was going on, we could be that person to change their whole perspective and attitude in that perfect moment.  We could give them an opportunity to figure things out for themselves and have an amazing day.  How cool would that be?  Also, you win because it was you that gave them the space to be happy.

And understand the unique challenges each of us faces...sometimes when we are filled with grief and worry we can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.  If we could take that moment to let them know and see for themselves how they can be okay in any given situation, they would be able to see that it will be okay.  It will allow that person to take in a deep breath and realize no matter what they can get through whatever struggle they are dealing with.  Now, again let's be clear there are some pretty tough struggles out there...death of a child or loved one, a physical attack on someone or some tragic event that would set someone back; however if you have kind loving people around you to understand, they can help you get through those tough struggles.  I think about my best friend Mary who's daughter was taken from her tragically; it has been a tough road for her but she has people around her who keep showing her how amazing she is.  It's not easy but with the love an understanding surrounding her; it makes it a little bit better every day.

I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care....this is the amazing part of this inspiration.  Can you imagine every person in this world treating each and every person in this world with gentleness, love, patience, tolerance and care?  What would our world look like?  It would be a place of peace and harmony where each person was heard, respected and filled with love and grace.  It would be a world without much pain and lots of tolerance.  It would be a world of supporting each other in any situation and no one person left behind.  Can you imagine?

It is the month of November, and in American we have a whole day of celebration of being Thankful for all that we have.  Today let's show each and every person who crosses our path gentleness, love, tolerance, patience and care.  Let's see how much you change someone's life today and let's really take notice on how much your life changes today.

Have an amazing day my friends...Until we meet again...

With all my love...Rita

162 On Empowering Women to be Healthy and Confident!!!

Good morning my friends...I am sure your weekend is nothing but perfect and filled with love and excitement.  That is my wish for all of you!!!

As I sit here pondering my thoughts for today, I am thinking about how it is November 9th and we are all getting into that crazy hustle and bustle of the holiday season and it's not even Thanksgiving yet.  I noticed right before Halloween that all the decorations for Halloween were already on clearance.  Now some stores have Thanksgiving stuff on clearance and Christmas stuff in full swing.  I myself enjoy the holiday movies and music, but I am not quite ready for the whole Christmas thing yet.

I am finding more and more that we are always racing to get to our futures and we don't take the time to honor and enjoy our present moment.  The past is behind us before we can even blink and we don't even know what is truly going on in our own lives.  How can we; if we can't even take a moment to enjoy our present.

For me this year has flown by quicker than I can even imagine.  So much has happened and I tried to take as much of it as possible and just be in the present moment.  But what I have found is that everything is going too quickly and it is hard to appreciate everything in the present moment; too many times I have been trying to keep up.  Think about that for a minute....what has been going on in your life that you have not been able to completely enjoy?  I bet there are a lot of things that you have no idea where the time went.

Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away and people are already dreading it.  The stores are opening at 5 and 6 pm on Thanksgiving...where is the time left to be with our families being thankful for all that we have and each other.  Why is it that we can't wait until Black Friday to get the sales....why do we have to interrupt a day of thanks to go shopping?  Think about that for a second....I get that it is fun and people are starting their traditions shopping...but our days are flying by so fast we don't stop to enjoy it.  Here is a thought, you get up...start preparing the turkey and making your dinner....complete the finishing touches on the house for family to arrive....you are busy in the kitchen....dinner is ready...you sit down eat and before you know it you are out shopping and fighting the crowds...come home....exhausted and go to bed...  I ask you, how is that fun?  We have taken Thanksgiving and dismissed it for a big dinner and shopping.

Think about this blog today....how is your holiday season going to go.  Let's start enjoying our present days...and really take in what our lives are truly about.  God did not want us to create a rat race for our lives, He wanted us to learn about ourselves and each other and have an amazing life.  Today enjoy your Sunday, if you have to work enjoy your work day; take in every breath and every moment of your day.  Cherish all that happens today good or bad and just notice what a wonderful life you have.

Until we meet again....

With all my love...Rita

Day 160 on Empowering Women to be Healthy and Confident!!!

Happy Friday my beautiful friends; I can't believe it is November, the ground is covered in a beautiful frost and the channel in my back yard is frozen over.  The change in seasons always makes me so happy and I look forward to all the surprises that are coming our way.  It is such an amazing time of year.

As we look forward to all that is coming our way, it is great to sit and reflect on all the gifts that we already have deep down inside of us.  To many times we forget who we are and how extraordinary we are.  We forget the power we possess and all the gifts that God has already supplied us with to live amazing successful lives.  Truly sit with that for a minute....

Fear is so funny...we can't see it, feel it or even touch it and yet it controls our entire lives.  We use other people's experiences to control what it is that we are going to do.  If something did not work out for another we take it as truth that we can't do it either.  We are so afraid to do something that may make us look silly, or we may experience people's opinions that are put upon us, or we are mostly afraid of someone getting upset with us and not talking to us so we don't do what is in our hearts desire.  It's true...I can't tell how many people stop talking to me because of something that I wanted to do and people were telling me no....sometimes it did not work out for me, however other times it did.  We can't be trapped by other people's thoughts and experiences that we call FEAR.  God has given us all the tools that we need to live and learn.  That is what this is all about...if you are not learning and experiencing; why are you here?

Take a chance my friends...yes it is scary.  I deal with that every day, but I keep going and taking the steps to fulfill my dreams.  Yes, my dreams are silly to people, even the ones I love; but we all have our own life to live, we all have our own mistakes to make, we all have our own lessons to learn from.  Most importantly what does not work for one may work for another...who will be that other person it works for?

Use your gifts to live my friends....until we meet again...

With all my love....Rita

    Rita OWEN

I have been through a lot in my life just as everyone else; I have found that what I have gone through has always been for my highest good.  There is not a thing that I would change in my life; I would keep the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Sharing my lessons with you helps me to be the best version of myself.  What I have learned, I share so you are the best version of yourself.

When we stand together we are strong and tall making a more confident and loving world.  We are forgiving our past and embracing all that is learned.  We then are teaching our children to be human and the best version of themselves.
