New Beginnings...Happiness

How amazing is it to realize that we are the ones who can only make ourselves happy?  Most times we will look towards things and people to make us happy only to find it doesn't.  Have you ever felt hopeless searching for happiness?

We have all done it; searching high and low only to find it is in us to be happy.  We are always paying attention to what other people have or say to validate what is happiness.  We will drive ourselves crazy trying to keep up with others thinking that is the way to be happy.  However, you can have all the possessions and money in the world and still be unhappy.  Look at the celebrities that are in rehab or killing themselves because they are so miserable.

We are bombarded by so many things in our lives; commercials telling us what we need constantly, products that are always upgrading and we can't live without it, cars that can practically drive themselves....it goes on and on and we feel inadequate.  We tend to feel like something is wrong with us if we are being told what we need, and we can't get it.  We are always left chasing our tails.

Take a moment and look around you, what do you really need and really want; you will find conflict between your needs and wants, that is what will send you in a spiral of thinking you are not happy.  Think about it...there is something you really want but is not practical for you right now, are you happy or sad...most would say sad.  Why?  That is a great question, we always want what we don't have, but when we get it we are still not happy.  You may feel a sense of accomplishment, but you are not happy.  You then may become remorseful because you spent money that could have been allocated somewhere else.

Isn't it amazing how if we just stay connected to who we truly are, we then will find happiness.  We are sad because we are always chasing out tails; technically we don't need much to make us happy, but when we are always looking at what others have that's when we start to loath and compete with ourselves.

Start to look within who you are, give yourself what you need and stop trying to get what others have.  That is when you will be truly happy and be able to live the life that you so desire.

New Beginnings...Appreciate

Good morning my friends...I hope you are all finding yourselves well.  I came across this inspiration today and I though how appropriate for our lives.

How many of us always feel like everything is happening to us instead of for us?  How many of us think that people are always against us instead of with us?  If you think about all your events that have occurred in your life; you look at different perspectives, you will see everything has worked out for your highest good.

We always grow from every experience we have.  We are constantly taking steps forward; even when someone says, "one step forward, two steps backwards."  That is not true, we are always moving forward.  Sometimes when we take steps forward we need to learn and readjust; that seems like steps backwards, but it is not.  We are always learning and growing, some may be slower than others but we all grow.

Start to learn to appreciate everyone who has been in your life, we have learned from everyone.  We are all teachers and students, once we realize that we can "Thank you for your part in my journey."  How cool is that.

Have an amazing day my friends...

New Beginnings...Letting GO.

Happy Spring to everyone...April is in full swing and we are saying good bye to Old Man Winter.

It just dawned on me how fitting this quote is too my opening sentence...As we shed the old us, we are shedding the winter...we start a new...not sure what we are in-store for; but we are on our way to new beginnings.

How awesome is that to think about?  This inspiration is very telling and perfect for this time of year.  As the winter leaves, we will get some bitter cold days, maybe some snow, bad storms...but the spring always comes.  The birds come back, flowers start to poke out from the ground, the trees start to bud, all signs point to new beginnings.

As we too emerge from our cocoons we are not the same person.  We go through a lot during the winter months that many people will not know about.  We may be different in ways that our friends and family don't understand.  We may come off weird or strange...different for sure and that can be quite scary.  We always worry about what others will think and say; so, we try to hold on to what we know, when deep down we know we are different.

We spend a lot of time trying to please and fit in; when really, we should be more worried about honoring who we are and allowing our new self to emerge.  When we start to honor who we are, friends may start to fall off, some family may no longer participate with us...this is something that keeps people where they are.  This is one of the most painful processes of transforming our true selves.

Do you know the saying "If you can count on one hand your true friends, you are lucky"?  When you really start to think about that phrase, you start to really look at your life and look at who is for your highest good.  We start to see people and things differently.  Our plan may no longer be the plan when we start to realize it is not for hour highest good.  These realizations can be quite scary.  However, when you see it's more painful to be where you are at, rather than where you are going...you may have some peace to make those changes.

I look at myself and my life; I know I am going through a lot of changes and quite frankly it is terrifying.  One thing I am grateful for is to have people around me who are for my highest good; who will listen to me when I am down and be grateful to be around me when I am up.  I am grateful for my son who is not afraid to tell me what I need to hear, and for myself to listen to what he has to say rather than shutting him down.  I am grateful to be in this immersion of self and creating a new life.  Letting go of what you know and what may be comfortable even though you don't like it, it's quite telling of whom you are becoming.

Allow yourself to let go of the old and create a new self, and new you...no matter what it is you are doing, give yourself the permission to grow and be your true extraordinary self.

    Rita OWEN

I have been through a lot in my life just as everyone else; I have found that what I have gone through has always been for my highest good.  There is not a thing that I would change in my life; I would keep the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Sharing my lessons with you helps me to be the best version of myself.  What I have learned, I share so you are the best version of yourself.

When we stand together we are strong and tall making a more confident and loving world.  We are forgiving our past and embracing all that is learned.  We then are teaching our children to be human and the best version of themselves.
