Tip number 4 from "30 Quick Tips for Better Health" by Don Verhulst, MD, Try the Genesis Diet. This tip was very insightful. It is about us coming from dirt, so we must eat from dirt. What that means is eat fresh fruits and veggies and seeds so that our body is getting exactly as it needs to survive. Once our bodies are used up, we no longer get to be on earth, so we need to make sure our bodies are as healthy as possible. What really intrigued me were the seeds and their benefits. Flaxseeds contain omega-3 fatty acids for the heart, Sesame seeds add crunch to your food along with having rich essential minerals, sesame seeds support heart and lung health, low risk for osteoporosis, and may help reduce the pain of migraines and PMS....for me, if it could help with migraines that would be awesome, and with many of you out there I am sure you suffer from PMS. Pumpkin seeds may boost prostate health and lower cholesterol. Sunflower seeds have a great source of vitamin E, sunflower seeds may help reduce asthma symptoms and relieve arthritis pain. These two benefits alone would help me tremendously. They can also calm your nerves, lower risk for cancer, and help relieve menopausal hot flashes. I am all about the Sunflower seeds...I will be going to Trader Joes to get my seeds today. Cumin seeds have an excellent source of iron, cumin aids in digestion and may help prevent cancer. Now the seeds need to be in their most natural form....it's a deal breaker if you are eating them with salt and any time of added flavor. So eat your fruits and veggies and seeds! YUM!!!
My water intake has been incredible. I have been drinking 10 bottles of 16.9 FL oz. of water every day. My body is starting to feel like it is being cleaned from in the inside out. I never really bought the whole theory of drinking water, but what I am experiencing; water has become my mane drink. I miss my wine once in a while, but for the most part I am excited about getting healthy. I am enjoying my clothes getting loose and being able to actually see the changes in myself. Whenever I have lost weight in the past, I never saw the change until I saw a picture of myself way down the road and I gained the weight back and then some. This time around I am seeing the changes in my face and in my body. I have more energy and I am going up stairs a lot easier. I have a little more pep in my step. When I look in the mirror I am seeing my accomplishments not what I have left to lose. I am seeing how beautiful I am and how strong I am. I have been acknowledging myself in a way that is building my confidence, not tearing myself down.
Here is a task for you to do today....look at yourself in the mirror. Just look, don't comment, don't find anything wrong with yourself, don't nitpick at anything. Just look into your eyes and see yourself. Tell me what you notice. This is one of the first steps in really starting to love and accept you.
Okay my friends, there it is. I can't wait to see what you see in yourself. Please share if you want...or if you want to private email me at [email protected].
Treat yourself to a yummy dessert...I tried it and I loved it....frozen banana & strawberries blended, add some unsweetened cocoa powder and mix....tastes like ice cream with out all the calories!!!
