I have even taken this journey one step further....I have joined a weight loss challenge at work. The kitty is pretty large; $1400 to split between 3 people. We have 8 weeks to release the weight and start to get healthy. Just knowing how strong my determination is to keep up with this blog daily, really tells me that I can do this challenge as well. One thing that I am doing is a cleanse. I did a salt water flush this morning. What is that you asked....well, I have done the lemonade cleanse a while ago to help me rid my body of toxins. With this particular cleanse you can flush out your bowls to get rid of the toxins. This morning, I poured sea salt into my water bottle and drank it. Within a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes you are on the potty. Your body is flushing all the junk out. The more water you drink right away, the more your body is able to push the toxins out. You can go on facebook and look up the Master Cleanse or the Salt Water Flush...you will be able to view the video for instructions. It definitely works...then you want to stick with fruits and veggies for a little while. You may feel a little ache, but it is worth getting the stuff out. You will be surprised how much poop we actually have inside us. When you cleanse, it also helps your metabolism to kick in. When your bowls are sluggish, so is your metabolism.
Today's Tip # 13 from "30 Quick Tips for Better Health" by Don Verhulst, MD., Eat God's Perfect Food. This tip goes back to eating food that comes from the ground and from seed. If you are eating whole foods, fruits, veggies and whole grain and a lot of water, your body will be healthier and start to release the weight. Did you know eating an apple or two a day will help lower your LDL (the bad cholesterol), fight viral infections, help stabilize your blood sugar, decrease appetite, regulate your bowel function, prevent tooth decay, and even fortify your body's efforts to decrease cancer cell growth? I knew that apples were good for you; I had no idea how good. I guess I will have to incorporate apples in my daily foods. I am really enjoying doing these tips on a daily basis. It allows me to really think about the tip and why it is so good for you. Normally if I read a book, I read it, keep some pointers and forget about the rest. But doing one tip a day, really helps me to understand and practice keeping my body healthy and watching it melt. I really do hope you are getting something out of these tips.
Its Friday...I hope that you are all prepared for the weekend and how you are going to execute any yummy situation that may cross your path. I will eat tons of fruits and veggies and drink my water with cucumber and my seltzer water with limes. If I can make things a little fancy I won't feel like I am missing out.
Okay my friends, there it is....The weekend is upon us, and it is up to us to make the best decisions for ourselves. Try not to let any stress through you off your path. I have already had a bit of a stressful day with my young chickens...this morning two had passed away, not sure what happened and the other one is fighting for her little life. I love my birds like they are my children...but I am keeping my head on straight and not let this become an excuse to have a glass of wine or some comfort food that will through me off my game. I am sharing this with you because we are all going through stuff and any given moment, please don't let it get hold of you and allow you to stop your journey. I know you can always start again, but keep going and learn that you can get through anything without the comfort food that keeps holding us back.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!! and SO CAN I!!!!!
See you tomorrow!!
