Did everyone notice it's FRIDAY!!!! What happens on FRIDAY??? Well, before this journey started, it was lots of WINE and PIZZA/HOT WINGS!!!! But we are in week two and its lots of WATER and HEALTHY FRUITS, VEGGIES, WHOLE GRAINES and SALAD. For lunch today, I had fresh raw spinach with little shrimps and crabmeat. It was tasty, refreshing and I am starting out the weekend on the right foot. As we are going into the weekend, it has been a long week, make sure you are not pushing your goals aside and sabotaging yourself. YOU want to make sure you go to bed with a clear conscious along with waking up with a go getting FANTASTIC ATTITUDE. What can we do to make this task easy....we always want to think in the terms of this is definitely doable.
1. We can tell ourselves the food that keeps us from our goals will make us violently
sick.....
2. We can start telling ourselves "I am allergic to that type of food".....
3. We can drink lots of water and be to full to eat that food......
4. We can make sure we leave food on the plate and walk away....no need to belong to
the "Clean YOUR PLATE CLUB".......
5. ______________________________________ (you get the drift....please fill in
the blank and share your idea).
6. Think of something completely disgusting and ruin your appetite......
Think about it, as we start to change our habits, we won't feel like we are missing out and it will be a life style change for us that we are having fun with. Let's see how it gets us through the weekend.
Today's Tip number 6 from "30 Quick Tips for Better Health" by Don Verhulst, MD, BEGIN to EXERCISE!!!!! Hooray!! How many of us LOVE TO EXERCISE....I am sure some of you are saying "NOT ME" and some of you are saying "I LOVE IT" and some are saying "I DON"T KNOW HOW TO GET STARTED". Well here it is...we need our bodies to stay on this earth, so we need to move and keep it healthy....How do we do that....
1. Let's make an appointment with ourselves everyday to do some kind of exercise....it can
be walking, biking, jogging if you like, going to the gym, dancing, yoga, anything that
would make you get up and start breaking a sweat and moving your body.
2. Find a work out buddy....always have someone you will work out with that will keep the
both of you accountable. Tell each other your goals and what you are accomplishing so
you both are keeping each other motivated. The buddy system is an awesome way to go.
3. If you can, get a personal trainer....someone who really cares about your goals and what
it is you want for yourself.....that way you know for a fact they will not let you off the hook.
Starting a work out routine does not need to be hard or complicated. Start out small and build yourself up. Continually push yourself to go further, longer or faster. Make it a game you will continually play. Have loud music if that interests you. Join a group if that will make you more accountable....tell people your goals, that way you will always work hard to prove you can do it. In the long run, YOU ARE THE BIGGEST WINNER!
Have something that will be a huge reward for you....maybe a cute summer outfit or a swim suit....maybe a haircut or a fantastic pair of shoes. Whatever it is, keep the prize in front of you so you can see, and know that is what you are striving for. Have a picture of what it is you really want and when you hit your goal, it is yours for the taking. Can you imagine the accomplishment you will feel? You will feel so proud of yourself; you won't even know who you are. You will be building your confidence everyday as you keep the date with yourself exercising. When that goal is met YOU MY FRIEND, WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE!!!! Take a minute to imagine. Can you feel it...can you see it...can you taste it? It is all there for you. YOU are LOOKING AND FEELING CONFIDENT!!! YOU are the most beautiful women in the world. YOU know it and so does everyone around you.
There it is....the task for you is to get started with your exercise. Make sure that you are doing all the other tips that we go over as well....practice, practice, practice....that is what will help us make positive life style changes. When I started this journey, I joined Anytime Fitness in Woodstock IL. I shared what my goals are with the trainer there and they are helping me stay true to myself. I am hitting the gym 3-4 days a week on my lunch hour from this day forward. I will keep you posted as well, call me out if you feel I am not... That's a great way to get some interaction on this blog.
I can't wait to hear what you are all up too, so please share or you can email me at [email protected]. Have a great FRIDAY my friends, chat with you tomorrow....Be ready to share!!!
